WTools3D has released an update to LWCad, its cross platform suite of architectural modelling tools originally developed for Lightwave 3D.

Version 5.5 adds a Auto Roof tool that is able to create roof pitches from an arbitrary footprint. Once created a companion Extend Roof tool adds overhanging eaves that can be used with the existing tiling tools to create complete roofs in just a few clicks.

In addition to the new roofing tools, the Cinema 4D and 3DS Max versions of the plugin sees several new and updated primitives for creating straight, spiral, winding and arc stairs. The addition of these new features sees the Cinema 4D and 3DS Max versions renamed from LWCad Lite to LWCad full with a price increase to €199 for a perpetual license.
